Who is brow lamination good for?
Eyebrow lamination, sometimes called an eyebrow lift, is similar to a perm for your eyebrows. This treatment gives the illusion of fuller, bolder and more defined brows.
It is ideal for people who have unruly brows that they usually tame with a brow gel. Don’t worry if you have sparse or thinner brows, brow laminations will still work! Even light colored brows are transformed with the help of brow tint, and bolder new brows seem to appear out of nowhere!
While recent trends favor bushier, thicker brows, we realize that this extreme look is not for everyone. Eyebrow laminations are versatile and can be tailored to suit individual preferences. As mentioned, the effect of brow lamination is to soften the brows, so they are not frozen in the raised position seen in the “after” photos. They are relaxed and free to be brushed in any direction. This gives the client the ability to style them as they wish. They can even opt for a more dramatic lift on some days and a more reserved look on others.
Therefore, we see all types of brow thickness and strength. The eyebrow lamination procedure can be modified to accommodate all hair types. The brow artist will analyze the client’s hair at the beginning of the treatment and modify the timing of each step to create a successful lamination every time.
Who is brow lamination not suitable for?
Unsuitable brow lamination includes, but is not limited to:
Is brow lamination good for your brows?
Brow lamination takes your unruly or sparse brow hairs and smoothes them out while lifting them in a more vertical direction. The end result is super smooth brows that look like they’re covered in brow gel.
No matter what your brow problem is – gaps, thinning, excessive feathering, irregularity – brow lamination is an amazing solution and a great alternative to microblading.
It can give people the brows they’ve always wanted in less than an hour, it hides small gaps and gives the illusion of significant hair growth. Most of my clients are between the ages of 30 and 50 and have lost a large amount of their eyebrow hair, whether it’s due to the natural aging process, disease, or excessive plucking. This is a non-invasive, temporary but effective way to repair their eyebrows in an affordable way.
Is brow lamination for everyone?
Lamination is open to everyone, provided your skin does not react negatively to the formula (which is why you should always ask your technician to start with a patch test). It all depends on the type of hair in your brows, which determines how long the first and second step will be left on your brows: a longer treatment for coarser, curly brows and a shorter treatment for thin, fine brows. This critical moment is left to the stylist’s discretion, which again, is why lamination is best left to the professionals.
Is laminating eyebrows bad?
Just as perming hair on the head can lead to dryness and damage, eyebrow lamination can potentially damage your eyebrows in the same way. Your chances are greater if you repeat the process too often or before 6 weeks.
Another more serious risk is eye damage. This can happen if the chemicals come into contact with your eyes during the procedure.
Side effects can occur directly under and above your eyebrows, but they can also extend to your eyelids.
These risks are primarily related to skin irritation from the chemicals. These include:
- swelling
- redness
- peeling
- itching
- bumps
What does brow lamination involve?
Brow lamination involves straightening and lifting the hairs with a chemical solution, which allows the hairs to be more flexible and take on the desired shape, covering any gaps or lost areas.
After straightening your natural eyebrow hairs, a setting solution is applied to keep the hairs straight, as well as a tint if desired. The result is fuller brows that stay in place when brushed and last for approximately six weeks.
Before treatment, it is imperative that you do your research to ensure you get the results you want. Social media is your friend here – I chose Thea because the Instagram photos of her work reflected what I wanted for my brows.
Can I reverse brow lamination?
If you wash yourself with water within 24 hours of treatment, yes.
Is brow lamination safe for sensitive skin?
You can totally get a brow smoothing/laminating treatment if you have sensitive or reactive skin. Let me know at the time of the service if your skin is sensitive and I will verify that the treatment is a good option for you that day. Allergies and medications are ALWAYS requested prior to your first service and afterwards to avoid any potential issues. An eyebrow balm is also applied prior to the chemical treatment so that the skin is well protected.
Does laminating eyebrows hurt?
The brow lamination process is simple. Your brow technician applies a lifting cream to your eyebrows that, breaks down the bonds of each tiny eyebrow hair, which then allows them to be reshaped. The hairs are then brushed into the desired shape, and then a neutralizer is applied to reform the bonds into their new shape. The eyebrows are then treated with oil to nourish them, which helps replenish the moisture lost during the chemical application.
Is brow lamination a tattoo?
There are many ways to get the full, bushy eyebrows you’ve always wanted, even if your brow bones were sparse at birth. Tattooing has been the method of choice for those looking for longer-lasting results than gels and other brow products. But a new technique is emerging: brow lamination. Brow lamination has quickly invaded Europe, leaving behind natural, feathery brows that rival Cara Delevingne’s arches.
How much is a brow lamination?
On the basis of average cost research, the price of an eyebrow lamination can range from $50 to $100 per session.
Compared to other eyebrow procedures, eyebrow lamination is considered extremely affordable. This is likely due to the fact that the process involves little time and materials.
However, it is important to know that eyebrow lamination costs can vary from provider to provider. Ask about the costs before your procedure.
Is lamination better than microblading?
Brow lamination is the best solution for people who want to give their thin brows a fuller look in a short amount of time. It is also ideal for people who do not want to fully commit to their new eyebrow look, as the treatment only lasts about six weeks (as opposed to microblading which lasts about 18 months). Additional benefits of brow lamination include:
- The end result is a very natural look
- The treatment will give you fuller and more “fluid” eyebrows.
- Eyebrow lamination is a needle-free, non-invasive procedure.
- The semi-permanent treatment lasts from 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the follow-up.
